Team Leader's Council

TLC - Team Leadership Council: The following teams meet individually; then the chair or rep. for each groups come stogether monthly at a TLC (Team Leaders Council) Meeting. This is the decision making body of the church activities, budget, etc. It includes representatives from the following Church Committees:

Buildings & Grounds (B & G) - (Meets monthly - Tues/Wed, 7 pm)
Children's Education (SS)
Faith in Action - (FIA) missions: (meets -1st Wed/monthly @ 5:30pm)
Finance - (meets: 3rd Thursday @ 8:15 pm)
Lay Leadership Team (LLT) - (meets - 2nd Mondays @ 6:00 pm)
Prayer Team
Staff Parish-Relations Team (SPRT) (meets- 4th Mondays @ 7:00 pm)
United Methodist Women (UMW) - various circles
Worship Planning & Design Teams - (meets- 1st Mondays @ 6:00 pm)

*TLC also includes all the Pastors, Administrative Assistant and the Church Treasurer.

Children's Education

Children's Sunday School begins each Fall with a Center's Approach model. We use Power Express from Cokesbury. Themes will be presented through various centers (crafts, stories, puppets, food, etc.) Units range from 4 to 8 weeks.

Set sail for Sunday School on Sunday, September 18th.
9:00 am : KidsTime followed by Sunday School Centers
Children's Sunday School for three year olds through fifth graders at 9:00 will feature hands-on Bible Experience Centers in which children will rotate each week by grade level groupings to a different activity-based center designed to bring the unit Bible story to life. Centers include: Art, Cooking, Games/Science, Storytelling

Our first unit will focus on faith through the story of Noah's Ark.
How big was Noah's Ark? Imagine older children searching their Bibles for clues and then, after putting the clues together, going outside to actually measure it out. Then, imagine young-er children, after hearing the story of Noah and the ark, making their own mini foil arks and floating them.

Pop on in to Sunday School! Are you ready for "sizzling" adventures and activities "bursting" with joy over God's love? Then, come join us see what's "popping up" this year's Sunday School! Sunday school concludes at end of May each year - with a special sunday when the children lead the congregation in worship. Note - children may start attending Sunday school on any Sunday - between September thru May.

Sunday School Classes:
We have 2 options for Children's sunday School: (9:00 AM or 11:00 AM)

9:00 AM - Sunday School starts each week in the Fellowship Center with...
KidsTime - Children, ages 3 through 5th grade will gather in the Fellowship Center with [parents - bring your kids to the Fellowship entrance where kids receive their name badge and parents get a corresponding wristlet - necessary for picking up kids at end of lessons].
Included during this time will be Celebrations, Singing, Prayer, Offering and highlighted Bible verses from the Sunday School curricula. After KidsTime the children are taken to their center for that Sunday.

11:00 AM - children ages 3 thru 5th grade - meet in the lower level, and are split into 2 groups, meting in 2 classrooms. They experience the same theme presented at the 9:00 AM session, but in a somewhat briefer format. Parents will pick up their children after the 2nd service concludes.

Junior High (grades 6 through 8); and Senior High (grades 9 through 12) at 10:25 - 10:55- there is a youth bible study that meets in Youth room).

Nursery Care is provided (during the Sunday School /worship services times) for babies through 2 years old. The nursery is located on the lower level (go in Curtice Park entrance, go down staircase - then stratight ahead). All parents and guardians are asked to sign in their child(ren) - , including parents' names and address. and contact info.

Faith -in Action Team

This church is involved in various missions: locally, nationally, & globally. For more information on any of the ministries, we invite you to stop in and check out our missions board. We collect and donate to : Asbury Storehouse, ABS, Flower City Habitat for Humanity, Red Bird Mission, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief), Webster Community Chest, Webster Comfort Care Hospice Home, Webster Food Cupboard and many more...

Youth & Adult Mission Trip - (almost every June to July) Most years many of our youth and adults, led by our pastor, travel to different locations (generally in the south-eastern states) to spend a week to 10 days helping in a needy community. In 2011 we traveled to St.John's Island, South Carolina to help repair storm dammage. Past trips have included theUMCOR Depot in Louisiana, Pascogoula, Mississippi, Edisto Island, South Carolina, and Henderson Settlement in eastern Kentucky.
